I'll take my LiveSight over the 3D any day.

I personally think I get more out of LiveSight. I can tell how a fish reacts to certain baits and things like that. You don't get that out of 3D. Great for Structure view if thats what you're after, but I feel I'll keep my livesight.

Competely different deals. Structure vs fish. I wont get rid of my LiveSight but I did replace 3D with 3n1. Both are a must have in my boat.

Livesight vs Structure? Not really comparable unless you are meaning Active Imaging rather than Livesight. They do totally different things. But to answer your original question, yes 3D is all that but you shouldn't have to pay $1000. You can find deals, even on here. I got mine new in the box for CONSIDERABLY less than $1000. There is a used one for sale right now for $375. Or go to a site sponsor and they will usually provide better pricing.

I got mine almost new for around 350, and worth every penny. Not only is the 3D super sweet, it will enhance your side imaging a lot. In 15ft of water I would set my SI to 45ft, now I can go out 80 and have great detail.
