    Kerr, Eastland Creek Ramp

Ramp is back open but you might notice the length of the dock is shorter.

That ramp will beat your brains out, by far the roughest one on the lake especially when the wind blows out the west!!

To be honest the dam dock needs to be replaced by the Corps also those ramps ( Piney Woods, Palmers Pt. Eagle Pt ) with out docks need them installed. They all need to be longer and closer to the ramp so if your putting in by yourself you can step from the dock into your boat and vice versa.

What’s a shame is Nutbush Creek has more free ramps than all of entire Virginia and the ramps are all nice!

Yes winds out of West and it was rough. Was the dock damaged and was shortened during repairs? Or did they feel it sat too far out from the shoreline and possibly could be hit by a Boater.

Eastland used to be a bear in the wind. And yes, Nutbush ramps and docks kick butt.

Eastland was damaged and shortened during the repair due to wind and high water.

Ya, true but where I live, Eastland is in my backyard and North Bend in the front, I'm not driving to N.C. to launch unless its for work and we (Corps) don't pay ramp fees anywhere on the lake while at work.

If I remember correctly we took out 2 sections due to damage, it still plenty long enough.

Even when wind is rough I still like Eastland. Drop the poles down. Last march I think lake level was high and launching was a little difficult, thought it was 313.
Gamblerpro what level is the lake when they close ramp at Eastland.

Most of the Corps ramps are/get closed when you can no longer walk onto the dock without getting wet from the high water. Also North Bend and Palmers Pt. where closed before the lake level rose due to low water, from one extreme to the other.
