Stock 2001 200 Optimax 3 liter reed swap

Don, If I swap out the metal reeds for some TDR reeds what else has to be done? Should I send you my plate for installation/lapping? Does ECU have to be programmed to run the carbon fiber setup? OR just go back with stock metal reeds.

    Thanks,

    Sam

You know he'll need the motor serial number to give you the best answer, right?

Might not be possible. 2007 250 ProXS mid section down. 2001 200 Opti power head. Unless their is a motor serial # on the block. ECU has some info on it.

    No PCM programming is required.
Definitely install the TDR reeds, not metal.

TDR for sure- no remapping required for the REEDS alone. You'll need (at least) the reed plate gasket, if possible, avoid separating the Air Handler from the reed plate (saves on that expensive gasket).

Oil pump prime is strongly recommended after reassembly.

BTW... these will be a Epoxy FIBER reed, specifically designed for that Optimax engine series.

Sam- we're pretty consistent about wanting the serial number, so at the very least, provide the info on the "frankenmerc".

Epoxy is the resin that holds the carbon fibers together even what appears to be solid carbon fiber, There many different resins and epoxy's that can be used to make carbon fiber components, some are very good and some not so good
    Thank You Leon Pugh
