    1999 Stratos 21 SS/Yamaha 225 SHO - Prop Recommendation

    Hi Guys

Ordered a new 2020 Yamaha 225 SHO to repower my 1999 Stratos.
    I have a 6" manual jack plate and I am replacing a 1999 225 Evinrude Ficht with a 4 blade renegade.

Not looking for anything fancy or high performance just a standard yamaha stock prob that we be a good all around setup.
Should I go with a 3 blade or 4 blade?

Thanks in advance for your input.

24 pitch should be a good place to start. You might be able to turn a 25 Tempest plus but a 25 T-1 or T-2 might be too much. This will also depend on the way you keep the boat loaded. If you run a heavily loaded boat you may have to drop to a lower pitch prop. First few hours of break in are critical, make sure you get the engine up to temp.
