I replaced the water pressure guage and water hose. Do you have to prime the system or purge air out of line?

I say no, when I installed my new one, I installed a "T" fitting in the line under the dash with a small hose hanging down about 8 inches with a machine screw in it.
I did this so I could drain the water out of the line to remove any water out of the gauge so it did not freeze during winterization months.
every new year i just plug the line with the screw, works fine.
I've replaced a couple over the years but I've never primed or purged them.
Team Mud - I too installed the T and drain under the dash
thanks for the replies
No.
You want air in the lines. If it's full of water, then water will not compress and show a reading. It's the water compressing the air that you read in the gauge. For that reason, you need to remove all the water from the lines.
