Anybody actually using garmin helm app as a second display?

Hadnt tried this in a while so thought id give it another chance. Had an ipad mini laying around which was about the right size to fit under my windshield. First the damn app shrinks the display to about 1/4 of the actual screen size. Pinch to zoom wont work. Cant pull up the hidden menu bar on my 7612.

about the only thing that seems useful is recording screen video.

Is what it is I guess unless theres something im missing?

If I unhide my menu on the 7612 its usable but why is the screen size chopped down so much on an ipad? Tried one of my kids full sized ipads 10” and only get 6” of viewable screen. Is there something I am missing on how to expand the screen? Or just how it is on ipads?

I get the aspect ratios are different but what a waste. Could at least get a couple more inches out of it

All I can say is the screen resolution it a 1000 times better on my Samsung galaxy than my 1242. Garmin needs to upgrade the pixels for sure

I use the Garmin Navionics app for mapping on a ipad pro and it works great on the water except on sunny days its hard to see. Its a great app for 20.00 for looking at lakes while sitting on the couch of fishing and navigation.
