I imagine when you have a new boat, new rods and reels. You fish as much as you can to sharpen all of your skills.

Maybe some of these weekend guys can compete?
Kbass, you are correct on the Thrift comment. He feels BFLs are some of the toughest.
On another note, maybe the G Man is trying to work his way back into the BPT by going up through the divisions as everyone else does. Just kidding, LOL....
Come fish any event on Lake Norman here in NC when the pro's are not off somewhere and see who you are up against :)

It's usually the guys the either live on the lake, or fishing nothing but that one lake. And they only fish that one BFL. We see it at the local events level as well. They don't spend 2 weeks on a lake. They've spent several days a week for the past several years on that one lake.
Guides aren’t excluded from BFL right?

I am real sure he puts his pants in the same way you do . One leg at time . Bfl’s is one step above a fruit jar .. right ?
How would you, as a coangler, like to get this text: "Your boater is Gerald Swindle."
I always loved fishing against the so called pros, when I beat them I know I have beat the best
In BFL's you have to compete against the local sticks and several Pro's trying to pick up a paycheck (or fishing just cause they like it) close to home.
