If I run the Active Imaging 3n1 on my Live 12 do I still need a seperate 2d transducer?

    Define "need"? :)
You can if you want to, the HDS will have full functionality with the 3 in 1 though so this is up to you.

Ok you answered my doubts. I was about 63% certain that the 3n1 didn’t need a separate 2d transducer like the LSS 1&2 did. I have the puck style epoxied in the bilge, which would you recommend to run?

    Both. :)
Use the 3 in 1 for idling and drifting (plugged in the black port on the HDS - channel 2), and the puck for on-plane readings. You will probably need adapter 000-13313-001.

The 3-1 will do everything but you might want a 2D transducer in your hull so it can read easily on plane. The 3-1 cannot be put into the hull.
