Need advice on mounting Lss2 ducer

I need to mount a Lowrance Lss2 transducer on my transom. I hear some people mount them to the jack plate, but I read on another thread that it needs to be at least 12 inches starboard of the motor. I want to get it right the first time, any advice or pictures would be helpful. Thank you

Mine is mounted on the hole shot plate on the bottom of the jack plate and it works good.

I have had LSS2 mounted on the JP on my last 3 boats. It will work just fine up to about 7mph. Best speed for all of them was 4ish .

I have a jack plate, but no hole shot plate on it. I guess I can probably get some sort of L bracket and mount it to the jack plate and then the lss2 to it on the starboard side.
