How long should the pulse pump last before needing to be rebuilt? Some days mine will skip a beat now and then when trolling, then not for several trips. Am due for new plugs, so will start there. I use the same process as with my Opti and pump bulb before every engine start. This engine would not pull fuel through the anti-siphon valve when new...I "fixed" that issue.
An example, last Saturday I trolled on the kicker for over 4hrs and noted it skipped a beat or had a momentary stumble maybe half a dozen times. On Sunday, 4hrs on kicker and it didn't skip once.
Once we're done for the day I run it WOT and my wife drives boat while I stow gear, clear/clean deck, etc. and try to get a minimum 10mins under those conditions.

Many years- most common problem I see are dried out o-rings or diaphragms.
Definitely look at replacing plugs (first).
Just out of curiousity- how is the fuel supply configured in your boat (two separate tank pickups, one pickup with a tee in the line, shutoff valves anywhere, etc)?

Single 48gal tank with dual pickups both plumbed direct to engines, no shut offs. Might be a few weeks, but next opportunity I'll replace plugs. Thanks Don!
