contour mode with DI?

Anybody run contour mode on SI split screen with DI?

In my head this seems like it would be better than just normal SI with the water column included. At least when looking for fish.

No, because I want to see which side the stuff/fish are on instead of the composite view that DI and 2D create.

No, SI covers more than 180 degrees left to right.

Down Imaging at 455 kHz covers 75 degrees

AND with DI and 2D everything within the sonar coverage is blended as it is recorded one vertical pixel row at a time.

I found a 360 scan of a fishing structure from a few years ago where I turned off the water column:



I scanned that when I got the MEGA 360 and you can see how distorted out of proportion stuff is recorded (above) without height (water column) involved
