    Champion mean 16

    About to buy a 2000 champion mean 16 with a 115 Mercury and use it as my “mini” tournament boat for smaller body’s of water! I wanted to know everyone’s opinions on this boat and how it could best be setup as a tournament boat?

    Check the transom . Ive seen quite a few of those that had the transom rebuilt because of water intrusion .

    Welcome, yep check the transom. That boat should run in the 50’s with that 115

    Fished out of one a couple of times years ago . Rode pretty good for its' size and was quick in turns .

    A buddy of mine purchased one quite a few years ago as a first "real" bass boat Had a 135 or something like that on the back with a 115 hood on it. It was not a great first bass boat for a young guy. But dam, after he learned to drive it it would run like a sob.
