Removing and resealing entire deck on brand new ZX200

Pretty much just an FYI, was having a passenger console installed on my 2020 ZX200 this week and we have been getting torrential rains all week. Turns out good thing we were because the tech just called asking me if they can have my boat for a few more days in order to reseal the entire front deck!! Says they have to take out about 50 bolts and apply an epoxy to create a proper seal. Apparently they use some sort of sticky foam from the factory that he's had to replace a few times now (including a FX a few weeks ago).

I have the seals Palaniuk added to his boat, so the water was not getting in around the lids. Was going between the hull and deck . Missing first big tourney of the year, but glad they caught it when they did. I would have never even thought of bringing it to them for water in compartments. It has been a small issue for me, but just assumed it was par for the course.

Anways, just a public service announcement. If you have wet compartments you may be able to have them do the same.

Here's a pic of the victim.

I’ve got an 18 ZX 225 that the compartments have leaked pretty bad from day 1. Dealership added silicone to some screws and edging but didn’t help much. Last thing they said to me was they don’t know what else to do. What dealership do you use? I figured there was a bad seal but my dealership didn’t do much to fix it. Maybe I can talk them into getting in touch with your dealership and have them explain how to do it, wet compartments are annoying to say the least!

The tech said its getting in around edge of deck between hull.

I put those rubber seals on the compartment edging so no water gets in that way anymore.

They are literally lifting the entire front deck off and resealing/setting it. I was shocked when he even brought it up. Was all his idea and suggestion.

Ameriseal. Lids will initially be really tight but they loosen up as you use them.

Jump to around 4 minute mark.

I was looking at a zx in dec and it had been raining earlier in the day. You could tell water had been pouring between the rear deck on the sides when you looked up in there. I didnt care for that at all. The whole wiring harnesses and wires were all soaked which will lead to problems down the road.
