    Fishing in cold weather??

So I finally have a couple days with nothing. Going to go down to the lake and check on things (Lake Gaston). Thought, heck ill go fishing Saturday for little while. Then I looked at the weather, high of 42degrees.

Is it even worth putting boat in the water? Have only fished when that cold once and didn't catch anything except a runny nose. Don't even know where to start?? Baits, places etc.

Those spotted bass will be eating good in the cold water. Some people hate them but I love catching them suckers and if your in the mood to eat some fish the spotted bass are very tasty. I won't ever eat a LM but them spots are very good eating.

Ok, so I guess I will give it a shot. Will try main lake points. May concentraint on down stream of point. Also bridges
Will tie on jerkbait, shakyhead, jig and lipless. Am I in the right ball park? Oh and I may toss something under a dock or tow that is over deep water.

Now with the rain we have do I need to go down lake towards damn to find clean water? ( my place is in Bracey)?

Caught several myself yesterday here in the river with two hitting 4 pounds. Just slow down, fish cover, piers and docks with a small jig and be glad you're fishing.

Forgot to mention water temperature 45 degrees.
