    Yamaha oil change in a sho

    Okay I sure my 225 sho is done making oil , so how many quarts of oil required in engine thank you

    Says 7.1, but go 61/2 with filter and it will be between the two dots on the dip stick

    Just got done with mine and it took 6.5 quarts with the filter and was half way between the marks. My motor has been an oil maker and just stopped with this last oil change cycle. But I still went with the conventional Yamaha oil.

    I think the conventional oil is the way to go for at least the first 200 hours from my experience. I have almost 90 hours on my 2nd SHO engine and I am running conventional for at least another season. May not change to synthetic at all...

    I had a 2011 ran synthetic from
    jump street and only filled with 6.0 quarts and never “made oil”
