Ultrex transducer

I just hooked up my ultrex transducer to my Humminbird 597ci. I am getting temp readings, GPS readings, but my depth readings are not right by a long shot. I an getting shallow readings of 40 ft 10 ft reading of 55 ft etc. What did I do wrong. I used the recommended Humminbird adapter.

Maybe if you stated the real whole model name, you would get an answer. There is no 697.

You still have not stated the whole model name, there are more than one 597ci models.
I'll try with that much information.

If you have the 597ci GPS Combo or the 597ci HD Combo, that is 83/200 kHz 2D sonar only and does match the US2 transducer IF your Ultrex is the US2 version and not the MDI transducer version. Could be a bad connection of the MKR- USE-8 adapter.
OR if you are only getting that issue when the motor is running, you have to fix your RFI issue.

Also if you have another unit operating at the same time using 83/200 kHz, cross-talk could be the issue.

If you have the 597ci HD DI Combo and the US2 transducer, you have to change the Connected Transducer setting to Dual Beam if you have that choice, otherwise that unit is not compatible. Don't remember the limitations of the 500 series.
