1998 Bullet 20XD
Looking at a 98 Bullet 20XD and wanting some feedback on the hull from that year compared to say 2008 or current models. I know they have been producing the same boat forever but are there any differences in materials used or molds from 98 to today?
Also, the boat I'm looking at has a 2013 250 ProXS hanging on it. Is that transom going to be ok with that motor on it?

I am pretty sure the transom was changed on the 1996 model. Early transoms had sheet metal screws through the transom cap into the transom. If it has the screws check the transom good. IMO any 20 needs a sportmaster lower unit on it for handling and performance. I think there was some resin changes around 2006, and not to the better. Having said this, I am not aware of any blistering problems post resin change.

For some reason I was thinking 94 models was the transom change.

You could very well be right Randy. Concerning the OP, for sure before '98.

98 is a good year no issues , pretty sure it's a 1125lbs hull should screw with a 250.

I had a 02 20XD with a Opti Max. Put a Bob's nose cone with dual low water hoses. That boat would flat out scoot... Just check the transom and have a good motor tech check it out... Dan

The transoms were changed midway through the 1998 production. A 98 model could be either. I worked at the plant when this was done. We had trouble with the aerator hose kinking on the lower strongback so they were changed to an Atwood with a 90deg fitting.
