new mega 360 split screen question

I was talking to humminbird today called the 1 800 # . They are saying that when using the 360 mega you cannot run a split screen and have di si or 2d sonor running at the same time seems kinda odd, For the guys running the new mega 360 is this correct have you been able to run di si or 2d on split screen with the mega 360 ? If so how is this achieved did not think I would have to spend the extra cash for another unit

The only split screen you won't have is SI/360 since 360 REPLACES SI. The MEGA 360 connects to the same circuits as the SI piezos in a SI transducer.

Wayne thanks for the reply I am new to HB the mew mega 360 plugs into the back of the unit not through e net cable if I understand correctly . so I will need a y cable to run say di or cherp 2d? or do I have that mixed up as well ? And since I don't need si what unit in helix would I require is the a mega + di that will work or do I require the mega + si .

sorry this is all new to me have had lowrance 20+ years but I really like the looks of the mega 360 for the bow of the boat

You can use a SI+ unit but it makes no sense to do so since SI is not connected. I use a SI+ unit since I already had one and a DI+ unit also, but my SI unit is a 12 and the DI unit is a 10, BIGGER is better.

Yes you need a MEGA 360 Y cable to connect both the MEGA 360 and another transducer to the display if you want a Depth reading on the 360 view. I am using a MEGA DI+ transducer with my setup, made no sense to use the SI transducer.

The MEGA 360 will REPLACE SI on a SI unit and ADD SI to a DI unit so either way you can have SI if you want. Just can't do both at the same time. 360 is a rotating Side Imaging transducer.

This SI is effectively the same that the SI+ Transducer produces, correct?

Also, it states there are split screen views directly in the box of the MEGA 360. So you’re good.

No the SI piezos are different, much shorter, so the images are not as sharp as with the SI+ transducer.

Is there anyway to run a split 2d/m360 and have the 360 display the “front” view rather than the full 360? I’m not seeing that option available so I figured I’d ask in case I’m missing something.

No. Isolate Sweep Area is the only choice in the split screen view.

Other G2n or G3n units that have the latest software. The unit it is connected to must be G3N DI+ or SI+.

It can be shared from a Helix SI+ or DI+ unit to any Helix G2N or Helix G3N unit.
It can be shared from a SOLIX SI+ or DI+ to any SOLIX unit.

You won't get DI unless you have a transducer connected to a Y cable or get it from another unit over network.

Yes.
The MEGA 360 ADDS SI to a DI+ unit and REPLACES SI on a SI+ unit.

You cannot have SI and MEGA 360 at the same time.

The MEGA 360 will do EITHER SI or 360, but NOT both at the same time.

If you want 2D or 2D/DI, you need another transducer connected via 360 Y cable.

NO the US2 will not work with the MEGA 360, it HAS to be HW or HW+MDI.

There is a tri-view with 2D/DI/360 if you have a MEGA DI transducer connected.
