    Best lake in OUR area.

The thread in lounge about best lake in you area got me thinking. Some said James, SML or Buggs. But what lake in Virginia is best to go and have a great day of fishing?

My grandfather was a Chick guy. He loved it. But he also had great days at Chesdin ( I still am not convinced fish live in that darn place, lol). A overall good body of water, which one? If you decided to take couple days of to just fish, where do you go? Let's here it.

If I had to choose only one lake to fish, it would be Buggs

Guess it depends. A laid back day fishing for #s with a chance of a toad, Sandy River or Briery Creek. If no 9.9hp kick the motor up and do your thing. Now other, Chick and Buggs are a tie, tiebreaker goes to the Chick, Then James, and Potomac. SML and Gaston dead last.

    LOL.

Lake wise it Buggs is certainly number 1.

By definition Rivers would be tied between the Potomac/Chick.

Moomaw, Leesville, REZ are all tied for Never...

I've only fished buggs a few times, and it was alright, we caught some fish but nothing crazy. I have had MUCH better days on Gaston and Smith. I guess I just need to learn buggs better.

We have had a place at Gaston for couple years now. Haven't really had any REAL good days there. Lake Anna is just terrible. Went there like 5-6 time couple years ago and could not figure anything out. I have hard time with James ( think its a tide thing).

Need to try and spend more time at Buggs ( short drive from out place at Gaston) and find some time to get to the Chick this year. Would also like to try Briery creek and Sandy too. But never seem to find the time.

I would put Claytor lower than Lake Anna and that is saying something lol...

South Holsten would be high on my list if it wasn't so dang far away
