    Looking for a lake recommendation

    Hi all,

Was planning on going down to Pickwick/guntersville area Feb 22-26 now looks like it might be flooded out. I'm from MN and looking for some options in Texas about lakes that have a good end of February bite. If anyone is willing to share I'd really like some local recommendations as I'm kind of reeling with the weather that has been dealt. Appreciate any help.

    Thanks

Rayburn and we don’t like meat hunters down here, leave your filet knife at home.

All lakes the bite should be on. Just pick the one u want to try, Imagine Fork would give you the best option for catching the fish of a lifetime.

You can fish both Rayburn and Toledo since they are so close to each other.

I loved the meat hunter comment, good stuff. We don't like meat hunters up north either. I appreciate the advice on the lake choices. I figured Rayburn and Fork would be the two top suggestions. If I go to Rayburn, any good resources to where to get started from? Navigation is a concern I'd imagine. But the 3-4 days I'm there, it's not like I'm fishing all 100,000+ acres either. Again, appreciate helping out. Was all set for that Alabama area, but if the Elite stuff is getting cancelled on Chick, I have to imagine some serious flooding is about to occur. Plus fishing Rayburn, Fork, even Caddo has always been something I wanted to do.

TTT is at Rayburn the 22nd, I may skip Amistad and go to Rayburn instead and give you info afterwards.

So falcon? Only issue for me there is the drive is killer from MN.

I have decided to stay at Rayburn a couple days, but will be driving close to these lakes that I know are known to be good. Any of them worth a stop? Broken Bow in Oklahoma, Millwood in Arkansas or caddo in texas?

    Thanks for any help

What part of MN? Lived in Coon Rapids for 16 years now live north of Dallas. Might stop at La Cygne Lake in Kansas (power plant lake) Lived in Kansas for 18 months that's a good lake this time of year.

I live in the south metro. La Cygne I'll look into more. I've heard good things in the past about it.

Bring your filet knife and grease, we have some fat tasty bass down here. Nothing like some steaks off of a 5 pounder.

Sure did, as I get old I forget those one time deals. I remember me and my bud Cliff catching 28 for the win with a 9 the last time we were here though!
