24 to 36 Volt battery configuration question

21 XRD, moving from a 24 to 36 volt TM. Spoke with the gentleman who does most of the work in central Bama, he stated he preferred to put in a solid 100 Amp or so cranking battery and use it as the 3RD as opposed to adding another battery.

Can see it saving weight over adding another battery but I guess it scares me a little. I assume the batteries would recharge while running as they would then all be on the same circuit though, right?

Has anyone else gone that route?

Depends in the graph you have, but i would not want to do that with interference on them.

Ran my BassCat with that configuration of batteries for years, properly wired all the way to the graphs and interference isn't much of a problem. I think only the cranking battery will charge.

I run 4 batteries, 2 on each side, kept running the cranking battery down the other way
