Prayers for all affected
We were out there yesterday morning and there were game wardens all over. We didn't know what happened. There were an unusual amount of boats on the water Saturday night though.
We were there Fri-Sun. The wind was brutal at times all weekend. Saw lots of small boats sitting low in the water going out Sat evening as we were coming back in at Oak Thicket ramp.
Prayers for the families affected

Strange but I towed in a boat a small aluminum boat with 5 men in it Saturday around 4 back to the ramp. Not a life jacket in sight. Wonder if they got the motor started later and went back out.
Was that the 5 guys who didn’t speak English? Watched them paddle all the way across the lake but they didn’t want help. Wind was brutal at times.
They were cast netters in a john boat. Over loaded and no life jackets. The boat supposedly sank around 10 pm Saturday evening. Getting to be quite an issue with the number of them wading the shore line out to 5 feet of water and taking fish via cast nets. Biggest problem is they are wading through the limited grass beds tearing them up and also the spawning beds. There is a move by some to try to get the TPWD to put some controls on this activity on Fayette. Its sad for sure that 3 of them drowned. They found the 3rd body yesterday I think. According to some of the local people that fish there a good bit, the cast netters are fishing more in the evening because of less a chance of fisherman reporting them to the game warden. The game wardens need to be more proactive on that lake to prevent unsafe boating.
Has to be the same group we saw Saturday afternoon around discharge. About 2:30, there were 3 of them in the boat at the time, but they had dropped 2 off on the bank with ice chest and probably a net. Then 3 left paddling casting along the north edge of the dike. Very little freeboard with just the 3. Boat looked to be a 12x36, maybe 14x36 john boat at the biggest. And with a south east/east wind that was the wrong side of the lake to be on. That whole situation sucks
They cleaned a bunch of tilapia that afternoon at the ramp. I guess they went back out.
Such a sad story
