    blank for 1/8 oz buzzbaits

looking to get more distance,I fish with med/hvy rods and can spit as far as I can cast that little buzzbait so I seldom use it, when I do it is productive.I am wondering if a med light is to whimpy around grass and a medium to much power for 1/8 oz.As far as blank action mf or fast?Looking to be 7ft to 7ft6 using 10 # braid and kw spinning guides.Any input from you guys that build lighter rods will be appreciated

Check out some of the Batson popping blanks 843 might be worth a look and if that is too heavy drop down to an 842. I know they come in 7 foot and i think 7 and a half foot also. You can check them out at Utmost Enterprises and they are really good people to deal with.

1/8 ounce buzzbaits are a royal pain to cast. If the blade catches air they fall out of the sky like a feather. When we fished them (rarely) we threw them on spinning tackle with 10# mono. Rod length or action didn't seem to make that much difference.

This is not really what you are asking about but I throw a 1/8oz. Cavitron on 15 lb. line with no problem. The key is to use a sparse skirt so it does not catch air and wire tie it. I throw it on a Dobyns 705cb glass mh. I also sometimes use a Ima Lil Voice which has a 1/4oz head but a really small frame that casts like a bullet. The problem with it is I wish they would upsize the hook and they are a little pricey.

could not find a 842 designation but I am going to guess that is the 7ft ml popping and I am leaning that way, sparse skirt(1 tab?)and wire tie,I can make that happen and will ty it out was also thinking about no skirt and sliding a small grub on the hook.Thank you gentleman for your suggestions. Not going to buy the blank for a couple of weeks, need to take the wife to Vagas for her birthday then I can get back to the important stuff(more blank suggestions would be interesting)

I just built two of these and really like them. This would be the perfect blank for what you want. MHX Elite X NP903 series
