    196 DCX Hole Shot Issue

I just fished my first tourney out of my 196 DCX. The hole shot is typically impressive, but with two guys and livewell full of water and fish, it was pretty sluggish. 200 hp Yamaha Vmax running a 25 tempest. All 3 large plugs are in. What can I do to help hole shot under a load?

Drop your plate, get your prop worked, or go a pitch down in prop, lose some gear and tell your partner to go on a diet.

I'm the one who needs to go on a diet!

If you’ve never adjusted your vent plugs that’ll get you some relief. Just start yanking one plug at a time until it blows out and put the last one in.

Start with vent plugs per Pat & follow up with what Matt Mosher said as needed. Most of my rigs one small-medium plug and two open but each rig is different.
