Did I find a find a rare boat?

I got a 2010 Tracker 175 TXW with a 90 hp Optimax, From what research I have done 2010 was the only year that the 175 was offered with a 90 hp motor. Even the new ones I looked at only have a 75hp motor and you have to pay extra for the 75, 60hp is the standard option. Did I get lucky finding this boat with the 90 on it? Also can I expect 50 mph top speed with my setup? The ones with the 75hp seem to top out in the low to mid 40s depending on the load and conditions.

Nice find. I doubt you'll get 50. You should top out around 45. My 190TX with a 90HP four stroke Merc, on totally smooth water, will hit 42 from GPS

Yep, you got the only year model rated for a 90 so far as I know. I agree that you should hit 45. The 75 will usually hit 42 +/-. My re-propped 190 with a 115 will do 49+ with just me and a full load of gas and tackle.

Those hulls could easily support a 115.

Especially since the 115 is the same motor as the 75 and the 90

I believe you can get the 90 programmed to a 115, its rated for a 125.

Too bad they didnt keep that rating. Not sure why they just changed it the 1 year. If you wanted to run a jack plate you could get close to or at 50 with a light load. These hulls do run and handle well at speed.

Oh Yeah. Call Simon performance Tech. They are a sponsor on here and did my 75 four stroke. When they get done with your ecu and you throw a jackplate and prop on there, 50 mph will be no problem.

I'm going take it out a few times first to see how it performs then I may consider doing that. Probably won't get a jackplate, but I believe I will need to change the prop to make use of the extra power.

With a 90 it probably took sales away from the PT190.

When did Mercury stop making the carbed 90 2 stroke?
