If you plan on ripping it through the grass I would look into something that’s stiffer than a glass rod. I like a graphite rod with a moderate-fast action. If I’m fishing rock and wood then a MH or Heavy glass rod is nice too.

This is what I use. Expensive but nothing better. 903C does pretty good too.

I have tried several different glass rods and several graphite rods. Despite what the pros say, my experience is that a MH graphite rods works best for me. I use a 6'6" MH Lew's Laser that's about 30 years old. But, I love the style of handle on the rod. Any MH rod will do.

For grass a mh fast graphite rod. Open water, rocks, etc a mh with a mod action is what I use. I was using the same mh fast for everything but in open water I was missing too many fish that were swiping at it. Dropped to a slower rod action and they get a hold of it before the rod loads into the meat.

I've tried a glass rod for chatterbaits and hated it. It may be different if I fished them on braid but for a fluro setup I couldn't stand it

Abu Garcia Ike Series 7' M Power Series. It's labeled as a "medium" but I'd classify it as a half power heavier. Designed for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. Great rod for chatterbaits and can pull double duty as a spinnerbait and buzzbait rod.
