    90MPH????

I just had a friend tell me his GPS tracker app showed 90MPH on a 1988 0r 98 1660LTS with a 1998 Opti 135 running a 25 Trophy Plus. I said that was bull@#!% What says you? I said 70-74 TOPS!! Oh and that was with two people.

My boat will do 90. I don’t normally run that fast because my tires aren’t rated that fast and I don’t want a speeding ticket.

I know I know. I have no idea. I was just being generous. Just for giggles, anyone with similar setup? Hard to read year of boat in the Gel. Engine is definitely a 1998.

I had a 17.5 Nitro with a 135 Opti tuned to make it a 150. I could get 64 out of it and that was it. It is amazing how many people think their boats are way faster than they really are. I had a buddy with a Z7 with a 150 and he truly believed it was a 70mph boat. The GPS was wrong was his excuse. The funny thing was my little boat was always faster than his. He hated it!

I had a 1997 Procraft 180 bass duel console with a 150 hp mariner and when it was new i ran 72 on the speedo which after i got a gps there was a 6 mph difference between the speedo and the gps. when i traded it in the best on gps was 64 mph.

Hey Joe hope all is well. That's funny right there. The only Procraft I have ever seen break 90 was a SuperPro and I had to put a 300 on it to get there.

Thanks for all the replies. I don’t know these boats but I know enough to know THAT combination was not getting 90.
