Going to Gvill for a few days

Bass Cat OI is on Lewis Smith so we are coming down for that but are planning on staying at Guntersville for a couple of days to fish before the OI
we will be there on the 8th and 9th of March. Staying at the State park hotel.
can anyone give me some ideas on what to do down there at that time of the year. never been before and would at least like to catch a few.
have no clue where to go and im sure with the Classic there that weekend the place is gonna be pounded. but would at least like to catch something.
is there grass there that time of year just any info would help.

    Thanks

Ouch...you really want to be on the lake when the Classic is there. You will have all the Elite guys there, plus hundreds of boaters following them. Then more boats for TV crews and media people. Then add the amount of people that will be in town for the Classic. You will be lucky to find a place near by to stay.
Last I heard you may have to stay closer to Birmingham for a place to stay the night.

Siebold Creek is directly across the lake from the State Park launch, plenty of humps, channel swings, flats, etc. right there. Plenty of eel grass in lake right now.
