Hey everyone, just wrote an article of some of the things that I feel are not talked about or often over looked when you’re a boat owner. Give it a read, thanks.

I fish in Urban areas where the shorelines has houses stacked on houses and sometimes in downtown Chicago (Chicago River).
Must have: Dark Poncho and a Pee Bottle. Pee in disguise.
Bring along a 5-Gallon Bucket or the Pee Bottle Female Attachment for the female crew.
be well.

The dark poncho is a great idea. Will need to add that to the boat.
I carry a small coffee canister for the pee bucket, the blue brand with a handle. It is wide and has a plastic sealing top.

Used peanut butter jars for baits .... wipe down vinyl 4x a year with Vasoline on a microfiber .... trailer tires 48/50psi .... wipe electronic screens with Windex w/vinegar using a microfiber .... use a 30 foot launch rope or 10 feet longer than the bass boat ....it will save you at the launch many ways

ok
White gallon Bleach bottle — cap super glued on, bottom cut out lower on one side. It is my pee jug also the required bail bucket.
I dont keep toilet paper in the boat. I keep wet wipes. Moisture doesnt affect it and it seals up and space saver. I have 4 or 5 wet wipes bags in the boat. Not because you have to go all the time. Mostly because others do. I can throw it over in their boat and get away from them.
Couple things I keep in the boat that others doesnt.
Hydrogen peroxide (Big bottle) Works great for fish care and for cuts etc
Super glue. Great for mending baits but can also be used to close cuts (after the use of the Hydrogen peroxide)
electrical tape. it has use for cuts on fingers etc.

quite a few could use a clue, especially at the boat ramp launching and recovering their boat
THE MORE YOU SAY THE MORE WE UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT YOU ANYWAYS
A spare kill switch lanyard, in the glove box. If you get tossed out of the boat, the kill switch goes with you. If someone else is in the boat and you are on a river or somewhere where current is taking you away. They won't be able to start the big motor. They will only have access to the trolling motor.
Ranger Z-20, Yamaha F225.
The Auto Tether is a must have for me. It let's me move about the boat while the old two stroke warms up or when I let one of my kids drive (low speed only) and beats the alternative of disconnecting the kill switch.
But x2 on the spare kill switch lanyard. I've got one in the glove box too.

Good article Mike.
When we started towing deep into Mexico years ago you had to be self sufficient. The only Mexican waters I fish anymore are on border lakes Amistad and Falcon.. I spend a lot of time on Amistad in the winter and still carry a few more items in the dry bag just in case you have to spend the night on the bank in a remote area.
A couple of MRE's some waterproof matches and a can of sterno. I always carry a spare prop. And a spare nut-- I dropped one..
As for the emergency pooper -- another reason to have an Allison.
The spare kill switch sounds good. However in an emergency the Merc's I've owned can be started simply by flipping the toggle switch back up.
