    Question Tire rotation

New to me is a duel axle trailer. I had it for 2yrs now. How do you rotate the tires for this set up. Front 2 back or do you X them from side 2 side Thanks

I’ve never rotated them on any trailer. They wear evenly.

Same here. Brakes on rear axle only is the reason I rotate.

Not a big fan of front to back, prefer to rotate tires back to front.

my tires tend to need replacing due to rot than tread wear so not sure it’s really necessary for me.

....if someone has a moment, could you explain to me how rotating them back to front or front to back is any different in this case?

It is kind of like crisscross left to right vs starboard to port, but much harder to do, especially with a single axle.

I've never rotated tires on a trailer, they always seem to wear even for me. I guess if you have brakes on one axle that are locking and sliding the tires you may want to. I have no experience with surge brakes, but with electric brakes if the tires are sliding you need to adjust you brake controller. Is there not an adjustment on surge brakes?

On a twin axel trailer the rear tires scrub when turning so typically they wear more than the fronts. I rotate front to back about once a year. In 4 years it’s time for new tires.

If you need to rotate the tires you are spending more time on the road than on the water. Boats are meant to be used on the water and not towed.

It’s just over 100 miles round trip to the closest lake for me. 5 to 6 thousand miles a year minimum. Wish I was closer.

Or North Dakota, I will go front to back one time between 5,000 and 10,000, then between 12,500 and 18,000 I will take them front to back but all tires on opposite side

If your fronts are wearing faster with a short drive, I’d be looking for a problem with brakes, suspension or hitch height. I have 3 tandem axle trailers, never rotate tires on any of them and don’t experience any uneven wear. I check all of my tires during winter maintenance with a tread depth gauge to look for issues with alignment and see no significant differences.

Fronts to back on my single axle trailer. If I had a dual axle I'd go criss-cross applesauce.
