    Aqua-vu MAV opinions?

Anyone own one or have experience with this system? Are there any issues to look out for? Worth putting on your boat?

I'm interested also, I have a 20 year old unit that no longer works and needs a new battery.

That is a pretty dated unit I believe they came out 11-12 years ago. Most cameras people are using on ice today are HD with hdmi outputs and they are portable with their own power supply. I’d call them before purchasing to see if they will cover any issues or if they are even able to still work on it?

Personally I keep a Marcum Recon 5+ on the boat and with me on the ice. Small compact and stores well.

Mine is one of the original miniature TV type units. Weighs a ton.

An underwater camera seems like a good idea on the boat until you actually use one. They're useful for ice fishing in clear water, and even then they're really hard to get aimed the right way and they want to rotate on you after you get them set up. It's nearly impossible to tell which direction the camera is facing on a boat unless you put it on a stick or something which of course limits you in other ways (and could be dangerous if you're idling around trying to look or something).
