    Crankbait split rings and hooks

What’s size is normal for small, medium and large crankbaits? I had a bunch of lures that need new split rings and hooks and need some guidance on what recommend or you find best. Thanks for any advise

Love the #9651 Round Bend Treble Short Shank from VMC. I buy them in 25 count bulk packs.
What I love is that they are one of the only quality trebles that come in a size 5!!! On alot of my cranks, it seems a 6 is too small, and a 4 is a bit too big.

Thanks both of you what about the normal size of split rings? I have a bunch of lures that we’re in my garage during hurricane Irma and rusted the split rings and hooks and they all need to be replaced

I've found the owner ST-35 to be the best crankbait hooks. Instead of three 120* bends. it has a 150* bend and two 105* bends. Place the center hook towards the front, and the side hooks stick out more for better hookups, and the hook point don't dull by wearing into the side of the crankbaits. Best split rings are owner hyperwire. Even the smallest start at 37 lb test, the same smallest in stainless 50 lb test.

That's fine if you want to spend $50+ for $4 worth of comparable hooks...

I will if I remember. I got different lures and all. But got some of those hooks, and some of the others they have that say 4X strong. Split rings, lure eyes, and a number of stuff.

I know. I like the Emotion rods alot, and you said you didn't. Still have, and use mine.
But, I had no reason not to believe you. I figure with you making baits, you would know better than I.
I have just been getting stuff as I need it from BPS near here.15808627352322065078805.jpg
I will just have more stuff when it all gets here.
But, I did watch the videos.

Your's don't have the 150* bend that really helps. Just the three 120* bends, which makes them useless on my thicker flat crankbaits. I switched to the 150* spread because they hookup better and I lose far less bass. No amount of money savings is worth lost fish in a tournament, for me. The 150* bends also don't eat the hell out of the sides of the crankbaits or topwaters with the points.

    I'm glad I don't have that issue.
