    2/1/20 open water fishn

I went to a half frozen pond in East Lyme, Ct. with my buddy today.

38 degree water, Air temp wasn't much warmer, Fishing was tough, but we did catch a few fish.

1 bass, 1 pickerel and 2 perch, all on a jerk bait, We had no sun, It was cold!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well, better than sitting at home thinking about going fishing : )

got a hand full of pnds here still open in south east mass and cape. Went to one today had about 30 foot ring of ice at the ramp I had put on waders and break it up and push it out before I could put boat in. Ice was thicker then I was expecting 2-3" thick but my fat butt was heavy enough to break it up in about 20 minutes and clear the ramp.

I went back out Sunday to Rogers lake in Old Lyme, Ct.

The launch was frozen but there was a guy before me that broke the ice and made a path out to open water.

The bite was slow but I did catch 2 bass, a 2.2 and a 3.92, both with a Jerk Bait

water was 38, the sun was out so it was a lot warmer than Saturday.

Feb 5th, 2020, Powers Lake, East Lyme, Ct. , 39 degree water

Me and my buddy caught 13 fish, 3 Bass, 5 pickerel, 4 calico and 1 perch all with a jerk-bait

The Bass were 4.4, 4.1 and 2.6, it was kinda weird , we caught most of our fish in a 1 hour window, must of been lunch time?????

The 4.4 Bass was not even hooked, the JerkBait was lodged sideways in his mouth, no hooks penetrated the bass, the bait was just the right size to turn sideways and get lodged in the bass's mouth.

Went out today (2/12/20), only 1 bass but it was 5.29 pounds, so that made my day.

also caught 3 calico and 1 pickerel, 39 degree water.
