Front pedestal won’t go up

2008 Z 20. My front pedestal seat won’t raise and it’s also extremely difficult to swivel. I guess it’s a double question here. Is this something that can be repaired fairly easily? Or, if I have to buy a new one is there a certain brand I need to buy?

They do go bad and have never know one to get repaired.

Get it at the height you want, then drill a hole and fix it there with a big As* SS screw.

Time to replace, been there , done that. Make sure you check the release on the bottom. Springfield, which was my Ranger original, makes several that are similar, except where it fits in the base Ranger uses.

Might want to check with Ranger as they had a couple of options for height. I like the taller one as it does not require you to raise seat up as much. I found this a couple of years ago. My original 520 back then had a taller seat and it took some research to find the exact replacement

Are these covered under a warranty? My 2019 seat is not working either and I was just about to post this same question. Less than a year old and already not working???

They will give you a return authorization and address for shipment
They will repair for a nominal fee
I've sent at least 3 back in the last 30 years or so.....cheaper than buying new.

You tried the old "Pushing down squarely" whilst fiddling with the lever? When I take the Wife, this is how I get Her cushy seat working..

WD-40 it. Also WD the pedestal hole in the floor so the seat can be removed easily. If it’s stuff spray it and rotate it and bet it comes out then. Good luck.

I have a New one arriving tomorrow since I did not know they could be rebuilt. It would be worth getting a quote on rebuild to have as a backup or co-angler option.
