I just took advantage of the 2019 excess inventory and purchased a 2019 Ranger RT188 up here in Northern Canada. The dealer is recommending I mount my Helix 9 to the right of the console rather than on the console itself. They say a console mount will suffer from problems with glare on the screen versus the ability to adjust the angles if mounted on a Ram double ball mount. He also mentioned a concern about the flimsiness of the stock console material.
I don't have a tilting steering wheel so I am also concerned about the view of the bottom of the screen being obstructed by the steering wheel. I'm 5'-11".
Does anyone have any honest opinions about flush mounting onto the console with the 2019 RT188? I do prefer the look on the console and really dislike the idea of having a big blank space on the console. Are my dealers concerns valid, especially with the sun glare on the screen? I know there are other options for mounts on the console but I'm focusing only on flush or the side.
