Power-Pole Security - Don't travel the roads without it.

Whether you have the older pole that connects to the bracket with 4 screws or the new 2017 bracket that's part of the pole.

Seacured Fishing has a way to lock this unit to your boat.

Check out the Guardian Lock for the older brackets at: https://seacuredfishing.com/guardian-lock-power-pole

    or

the Defender Theft Deterrent System for the new brackets at: https://seacuredfishing.com/defender-security

Don't leave home without some type of security.

OK, I'm a little confused here. Couldn't a thief just unscrew the nuts on the back of the mounting plate or just take out the two bolts attaching the mount to the jackplate?

I would agree, Do you want the best security? Hammer over the end of the bolts (last remaining threads). Still gives you room to tighten, you will need to cut them off if you ever want to unbolt the system but so does a thief! If they want it they will get it no matte what you do.

The nut that comes in the Guardian Lock kit is a flat disk made of metal with threads and 3M Tape. There is no place on the Guardian Lock Nut to grab it for removal and then the bolt is hidden. In 8 years, we have never had a theft reported.

On the Defender security system it's a one way turn bolt on one side and a break away nut on the other. Again, it's not possible to grab the nut with any tool to remove it or unscrew the bolt.

On the new brackets the Guardian Lock's diameter is to large as it will on the older style power-pole bracket. The new brackets that come on the power-pole need the Defender Series Theft Deterrent system.

All stainless steel hardware, no corrosion and no worries once either solution is installed.

Guardian Locks work not only on power-poles but on GPS / Fishfinders and Trolling Motors and they can all be keyed alike so you'll only have 1 key.

Actually to answer your question, YES. Power-Pole thefts happen frequently. Anything that's as simple of using a rechargeable drill to remove 4 nuts and cutting the lines and takes a couple of minutes is of interest to would be thieves.

A "Guardian Lock" gives you total theft protection while on the newer brackets we use the "Defender Series". Everything on your boat is an investment. Many people say, that's what insurance is for but it's the inconvenience of having someone
take your equipment and dealing with police reports and insurance when in fact for less then $100 or $39.95 you can never have to worry about it again.
