    mirror Images

Yesterday I'm scanning some pilings on the right side of the boat and I noticed the exact same image is appearing on the left side of the screen. Everything I scanned on one side would mirror on the other side of my screen. It wouldn't be as strong but definitely the same image. Any ideas?

Hmm.... maybe set your side imaging to right only, or left only, and see if you get a different image (drive by known structure) then set it back to “both” sides after.... I haven’t seen a mirror option on my carbons yet....

You sure you didn't get your Lowrance update from that Ukrainian Down load site? Sounds like a hackers sense of humor!

The SI beam form covers past vertical under the boat ...

A target on 1 side of the boat can also be caught in the fringe of the opposing SI beam under the boat (in the right circumstances) ...

That mirror image is in the "water column" so is it really a mirror image or was it almost directly under the transducer??

If the subject is not directly under the transducer it will get a ghost-like image of it on the other side due to lesser echo strength:

If a subject is directly under the transducer, you get a duplicate of it:

The images are not a mirror, they are what each imaging piezo is "seeing".

I did a hard reset and it fixed the issue, the objects were approximately 15' and 30' away on the right side and showing up faintly on the left side of the screen too

Thanks for the help and info
