    2008 Opti ProXS 175 lost a 1000K on top end and lost holeshot

    have a 2008 Opti ProXS 175 - motor has developed this problem over the last couple of months.. it has a very bad holeshot and boat just takes forever to get up to speed. but like i said its lost 850-1000k rpm and about 5-6 miles an hour.. when running on pad it runs smooth and never misses a beat but its underpowered for sure. any help would help

    Need to provide engine serial number, please see Announcements at top of forum.

    How old are your plugs? Have you checked to make sure plug wires are securely attached at both ends? Visually inspected coils for abnormalities? Checked injector harness and connections?

    1k, yes, 1000k, no.

    Yes, guessing we better go with 1000 RPM's.

    Please do update your post with the engine serial number.

    As suggested, check the BASICS: Compression, Spark, and Fuel Quality, Delivery, Air/Fuel Pressures. Don't forget to perform a VISUAL inspection for simple items like plug wires unplugged, belt shavings everywhere, etc.
