    2020 Skeeter FXR20 SHO question

Took delivery of this boat about 3 weeks ago. Absolutely love it. Had a 2018 FX and this model rides a lot better, feels even more stable, and fishes great. Only minor issue is on the SHO. I can only get 5500 for max rpm which gets to about 68-69 mph. I do have a jack plate. Doesn’t seem to matter what trim level or jackplate setting all I can get is 5500. Anybody else running one to compare? Appreciate the input.

First thing to check is your prop-to-pad measurement. It could be set to deep. I dont have an fxr but a good guess would be around 3" ptp.

Full fuel tanks? 25P T2 prop? How many hours are on it?

First thing is get a buddy and check the hotfoot adjustment. Take the cowling off while you have some one hold the hotfoot wide open, and look to see if the full throttle and cable adjustments line up. If it does not then set the stop bolt behind the peddle. Even if it was set at the dealer, it may not have been tightened and vibrated during brake in. Very common. If you got it with a hydro jack plate, raise it till the tape is at 4". If manual jack plate leave it alone for now. If none of this gets you more rpms then bring it to the dealer, thats why you buy new

Thanks for the input....think I’ve covered most of that and still just get 5500. It’s the stock 25P T2 prop, I’m still in break in with about 6 hrs on it, I’ve played with the hydro jk with no change, adjusted/checked the hotfoot, took it to the dealer and they said normal range is 5000-6000. My previous motor would reach 5800-6000. It just feels I’m not getting all I can out of it. Other than that, runs great.

I have a 2020 FXR20 with the manual jackplate, factory setting. I can run 74 at WOT, which is about 5800 on my gauge.

Sounds like your T2 might be at fault....if all the other adjustments were done it leads you to your prop....I
would borrow another 25P T2 and see what happens....I run a 26P Tempest on my 2016 FX20 and it runs
great, my original 26P T2 Yamaha is OK but it needs work to run with the Tempest....Try a different prop
    and see what happens !!!!

no way your getting full power. you should be able to hit 6000 rpm. get the motor height right and check the throttle cable.
Live life, its the only one you get!
    You don't scare me.

Break in mode? A SHO will run 6175 rpms at minute one, although not recomended, but definitely will.

Yes still breaking in at 7.7 hrs. Ran it more yesterday and could get to almost 5600 rpm and 70 mph but that’s with jp setting at
8 and trimmed up. No more room to get any more. I may try another prop but I do appreciate all the input.

Which hydraulic jackplate do you have? I have a 2018 FX with an atlas that I run at 10 to 12 all the time. At 10 on the gauge I was 2 1/4 PTP. I have no problem turning 6150-6200 with a 25 T2.
