Well here’s another 360???

Was in the local sporting goods shop today to pick out my 2nd unit for the bow to just run mapping. Currently have the helix 9 mdi+ gen3 up front to run mega 360 and was going to add a helix 9. Friend of mine who works there was helping and says the Humminbird rep tells him you can use a helix 9 mdi+ gen3 to run the mega 360 on a helix 12 mdi gen2. If that is true I can have a much larger screen for the mega 360. Plausible? Are there any drawbacks to doing this?

You can SHARE via Ethernet to a G2N.
MUST be connected to a MEGA SI+ or MEGA DI+ unit. In the Helix series those are G3N models.

No drawbacks, just simple data sharing.

CN you use the unit your sharing from to do other functions while you’re sharing? Sonar on the gen 3 and mega 360 shared to the gen 2?

It is network sharing just like 2D, DI, SI, Temp, GPS. Just cannot have the MEGA 360 doing 360 and Side Imaging at the same time.
The MEGA 360 REPLACES Side Imaging on with a Side Imaging unit and ADDS Side Imaging to a Down Imaging unit.
