    battery chargers

I'm looking for some input please and thanks, for a new charger.....I have two group 27 deep cycles and a crank battery. I don't use much electronics, only one graph (on crank battery). I don't tournament fish and I use the trolling motor maybe once or twice a week for only a few hours (I drift fish a lot). After doing some research, I think if I was doing more trolling/electronics, I would get a MinnKota 330PC (10 amps per bank). But my question is, for less $$ would a MinnKota 318PC (6 amps per bank) do the job for me? Or what about Promariner Prosport HD20 PLUS (GEN 4, 20 amps total). Apparently, with this one, when one battery is charged it transfers available amps to the other battery(s) needing it.

I would stick with 10 amps per bank, more versatile and faster recharge. Even a 10 amp per bank under certain conditions may not fully recharge batteries overnight. A five amp probably would meet your needs, but I always try to exceed actual minimum requirements
    Thank You Leon Pugh

I have a Minn Kota 315 (5 amp) and have never had a problem getting it to recharge overnight even on a 4 day fishing trip.

I have the pro sport 3 bank, 20 amp. You have the way it works correct. It will charge up all 3 of mine overnight after a full day of fishing. For the cost it is a lot of charger. I gave less than $140 shipped.

Just a note when you choose. Be sure to check the cable length as they are not all the same. Depending on your battery layout, some brands are out of consideration if their cable won't reach. Pro Sport 3 bank, 20 amp is a stout workhorse for me. Dead to full overnight, no problem.

I have similar battery set up as you. Put in a Minnkota 330 D a few years ago and I've been very pleased with it's performance.

I would also stick with 10 amp. Faster recharge also translates into longer battery life. The MK 330 PC is a very good choice. A Dual Pro Sportsmen Series would also be a very good choice.

10 amp has always been more than adequate in my experience. Many AGM batteries don’t recommend any more than that. Worth the extra $$$.

Thanks everyone for the input....the more I look, the MinnKota "MK330PC" appears to keep getting the best reviews (other than the more expensive 15 amp models). The one thing I like about it that some chargers don't have are charge status indicators for all 3 banks, so if you have a battery or a charger bank failing, you will know it. There is currently a $50 MK rebate and good pricing from Brian at BBG (a board sponsor).

You may want to check out the latest charging technology from Power-Pole. CHARGE. Pricey but really nice, including a built in GPS if your boat is stolen and a monitoring app for your phone. Roland has an installation vid on his YouTube channel.

That pricing is ridiculous IMHO. Good charger, good batteries and a Tournament Saver Elite jump starter and you are way ahead of the game!

Minn Kota onboard chargers are the best bang for your buck! Also, their customer service is the best out there!
