If I was to buy another Bullet, it would be a 21xrd. Some of the deck changes made on the XRS need to be added to the XRD. Keep the front deck the same but change how the rear storage and livewell lids close/seal and it would have been perfect.

Tim is correct on the live well lids. Lost 6 of them and all 6 hit the cowling
on the way out of the boat. Bass Cat had the same problems and change to
a different lock. I have them on mine now and they work.
Sounds like the guys a Bullet were talking about blue printing the pad,
do not do it. I had mine done and did not see any gains. Not worth the
extra money.

As far as the lids go i am just curious what happens. I have had 2 Bullets that run in the 80's. My fishing partner also owns a 21xd that runs in the 80's this has never been a problem for us. I have had the live well lids open and slam backwards on the deck. It was always because I left the latch open or my partner did by accident. I also have never had any damage when they did blow open. Of course I was not setting pushing 90 or 100 mph either so I am sure that makes a difference.

Dad's live well lids do not open all the way to lay flat on the deck. Ever since New when they open, they stop about 2/3 the way back so if they open they catch all the wind and rip the hinges off. To get them to lay flat you would have to remount the back of the lids where they stick up and look bad.

I’ve never had a compartment lid fly open. The lids behind my seats lay flat when open, but doesn’t lift well without lifting the seat forward first.
