    03 Silverado question

Couple of friends have had issues w/ their transfer cases, and I'd like to catch mine before it goes out.
Specifically, the pump in the tail housing wobbles with age and wears a hole thru the housing and the oil leaks out.
Is there a " upgrade " to fix this, or replace the whole thing?
    Thx

No there is an issue with the tailshaft rubbing the crossmember and it makes a pinhole and an Issue with Pump rub but I think its only on the Diesel at least thats where I always read it.

    Jerry, I don't know, I haven't checked yet.
My son in law had to have his T C replaced, and another friend is having problems with his.
Hopefully, I can deal with it before it cost too much.

I had it twice in my used '02 GMC diesel. Bought it with the pump rub which at the time I didn't know what was wrong as I got home and there was ATF fluid all over the tailgate. The dealer I bought it from replaced the T-case.
The second time it happened after 7 years of ownership I got rid of the truck.
If it happens to you JB weld is a temporary fix.

My '03 Dmax is nearly at 300K, and I haven't yet joined the Pump Rub Club.

Mine cracked at the drain plug, started noticing a drip and sure enough had a two inch crack extending from drain hole. I drilled a hole at the end and used jb weld as a temporary fix...traded it in on a Ford about a month later

Just crawled under the truck, and there is wet spot on a cross member, that looks like fluid is
being flung out from a hole, but I don't see a hole.

Checked the fluid level, and it's low, I'm adding some soon as my hands warm up.

Btw, is there a good silverado forum?
    Thx
