OK. Didn't get any in the 20's. Limit is only 1. Back 10/15 years ago you could get 5 lbers that wouldn't keep. We fished several tournaments there back then and a 20" keeper was pushing 6 lb+.

    I bet that was fun!

There are still 5lb fish in there that won't keep, especially prespawn. Had several 19's that were probably 5.5. After spawn you can obviously catch some long 20" + fish that are < 5lb. There is no lack of bait in that lake, fish are mostly super healthy and fat.

That's no joke. My Helix stayed lit up everywhere we went with bait fish. We where there in August 2019 and the water was less than 6" visibility and they were basically on the bank. We were marking a lot baitfish in deeper water but not catching anything till we started hitting the banks which didn't make any sense with 85+ water temps. Headed north when we first got there and had 92+ water temps, then turned around and headed towards the dam and started catching fish.

Will running the turbine for only 3 days increase the water temperature very much? Obviously nearest the discharge will be warmest.

We had 2 boats there today. Warmest water we found near the firing line was 50. 2 years ago on the same day was 78. 5 anglers no bites. Plus 2 boats were leaving when we pulled out with zero bites. We had cold rain and that prolly didn't help. Was worth a try.

Oh and there were 1000s or maybe 10,000s of dead shad. Talked to Kyle at Hoosier energy and he said they stocked a warm water shad from Tennessee and the last cold spell hit them hard. All of our bottom beating crankbaits pulled up dead 1 1/2" shad. Some nearly alive and most very dead.20200217_083457.jpg

That makes total sense. When the water gets that warm the deeper water loses its oxygen content...the fish have no choice but to move shallow

Can’t swear about generators, but the stacks have been discharging smoke/steam this week.

You can call the gatehouse and ask...they'll usually know and tell you if its been running.

I just made the call to the gatehouse, the plant is running at idle only. The water temps are down from normal and not many are catching anything.
