Not meant to be political but dam!!!!

Lot of things going on in Washington but their ARE a lot of things that aren't going on. Say one thing that hits home to many of us. What is it? The cost of prescription drugs. Just refilled my prescription for Xarelto. $701.58....granted we put it on the charge card AND it is a 3 month script...it takes us 3 months to pay off. Dang it...lets do something about these prescription drug costs. Its really hurting middle America and those of us who are social security.

Maybe I need to look on the other side of it...these high cost drugs DO help us to maintain our daily lives but it really puts a strain on our standard of living.

Am I pissing up a rope or are others affected by rising prescription drug costs?
Sacred Heart of Mary, pray for us now, and at the hour of our death. AMEN

$4,000 a shot for Fasenra. Not so bad when you hit all of your deductibles. Basically I have to come up with a few thousand dollars to start every year off. Sometimes I just put things off. Samples are a big help. Right now I'm working with the drug company to help pay the deductible this year. I get the shot ever two months. It is what it is. It is a life saver for me so I do my best to come up with the money. No one else is going to do it for me.

You really have to see political lobbyists at work to truely understand their impact on political policies. The money lobbyists spend to wine and dine politicians and the amount of money they give to support their political campaigns is staggering. Way too many times politicians have to make the decision in supportting issues their constituents want or supporting issues their financial supporters want. Sometimes those issues are not the same. Medical costs and drugs are a classic example. And it leaves us wondering why something isn't being done. Doesn't matter what party, all parties are being influenced.

When I was going thru my stem cell transplant they gave me this one shot (on 3 different occasions) to increase my WBC count. $5000.00 a pop.....crazy!

Cost for stem cell transplant was over $500,000.00. Drugs and medical field is a cash cow.

a family friend was a doctor, worked at a major hospital and he said the reason drugs are so expensive in the US is all the pharmaceutical companies do their research here so they charge us an arm and a leg and sell it for pennies in other countries. I guess that's socialism :)

I for one am tired of America supporting the world in many different ways

I am on Medicare. I have Part D $13.30 per month premium. Xarelto 15 MG is $47 per month co-pay.
Do you have a Medicare Part D drug plan? The price you quote is for those with no insurance.

He's paying $701 for a blood thinner, and congress has been mired in collusion and quid pro quo for 3 years. No matter which side of this you're on, this is nuts! Leave the election alone and get back to work on something for the average American!!!

Yes, Humana...and then, the pharmacist who is a friend, supposedly found us some coupons to use. Take 2 pills a day, one in the morning and one at night.

    20 mg per tablet...

Congress has nothing to do with the price of drugs, that is why they are so expensive! Every other country in the world regulates drug prices and we won't even let the government Medicare program negotiate prices.

That would shut down new drug development real quick. Someone has to pay for R&D, its just obvious we are paying an unfair portion of it here in the US of A.
