I work with a man who fished in the 1st Bassmaster Classic

We hired a man a few months ago named Will Little who's a pretty cool guy to be 80 years old. We were talking one day and the subject of bass fishing came up. He said that he fished in the first Bassmaster Classic in 1971. Of course I called BS. He said look it up. Of course I did and son of a gun he finished 9th!! He has told me alot of good stories about fishing the Bassmaster trail back then. Those guys had it tough! He had a ton of stories about Ray Scott too. Now I pick his brain whenever I can.

On another note he played college football at Georgia with Pat Dye and Fran Tarkington.

Here's the board on day one.

Still paying off credit cards from living the dream.

Kidding. Cool story. Like meeting guys back in my early years in the trades who had a chance to play pro baseball till WW2 came along. Worked with a couple guys who had that story. Lot of teams had their farm systems depleted by the war effort.

The fellow who came in 3rd in that Classic, Bobby Meadows, is from right near me in Baton Rouge. He fished a short while and started. his own TV show before Dance, Martin and the others. Great Fisherman.

Real question is, did you refer him to become a member here on BBC so we can all hear his stories?

Cool. I hope you talk to him and pick his brain on the changes he has witnessed. We don’t take advantage of talking to the elders most of the time and hear the great stories.

My childhood dentist finished 9th in the 1991 classic. Never even knew it until I saw it in his obituary last year
