Does it need to be integrated into other electronics for spot lock to work?
Or will it work alone, as a stand alone unit, without a depthfinder?

My understanding is it will function like the Xi3/Xi5 with Pinpoint GPS, so all of the Standard GPS features would be available without integrating to a lowrance head unit.
Unlike the Xi3/Xi5, the new Tour Pro has the Gateway unit built in for connecting to the NMEA network to integrate with Lowrance units, not as a separate add-on purchase.
^ that’s my understanding too, works stand alone or links to Lowrance electronics by nmea.
I have been watching vids on the pro all day at work. I like the features it has and will work with my HDS12 units. The lift assist looks amazing, having 5 back surgeries that would most definitely help if its really that easy. I think if I ever got past the looks of the head it would be a great TM, but I always say the new body styles on trucks are ugly until they have been out lol. This may be easier to set up since I already have one of the older tour pro on my Phoenix.

I have one coming, pinpoint and sonar 109 volt.
I run Xi5 now, and had tours before that.
The bolt pattern on gator mount same as on new Tour mount.
The internal GPS or pinpoint has all in head. No puck to mount.
The Pro Tour has built in Gateway so not gateway kit like on Xi5.
The sonar is universal and is HD 200/83 and 800/455
The lowrance units can control the pinpoint on screen in auto pilot.
True cable steer, so if gps system failed still works like traditional TM.
Also has hand remote. Spot lock or MG term anchor and if you touch pedal it converts back to traditional.
Stow deploy shock, best mount lock and emergency release mechanism.
360 breakaway head. And the slide clamp to adjust height.
New katana prop. Metal pedal, old tour edition feel
When using autopilot can steer with screen controls on HDS gen 2-3-carbon and live.
Very sturdy and will gain respect back in TM world.

Im seriously considering one now. It has come down to that and the Ghost. I dont think I could stand the err err err noise of the Ultrex all day on spot lock.

My new motor guide tour pro is due in this week at my boat dealer . I went with the motor guide tour as I wanted a true cable steer . Fished in plenty of boats with an ultrex . I just didn’t like listening to the servo steer trolling motors . Motor guide tour should be the best of both worlds .
Very interested in this motor as well.
There was a time that I didn't fish but I cannot remember it.

I have checked around today at most major dealers and it seems there are no MG Tour Pros to be had.

just purchased a MotorGuide Tour Pro + HD. What all is needed to connect to HDS 9 Gen 3 on bow and console. I also have a Point 1 GPS that needs to be connected. I assume a NEMA 2000 starter kit is needed but what other cables or parts would be necessary to connect the system?
My Tour Pro + HD just got delivered. Just want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly. If I have two HDS9 Gen3's and a point one GPS module, I don't need to buy a gateway? Will the NEMA 2000 kit be all that is needed to connect the 2 depth finders, the point one and a Tour Pro + Hd?
My boat is at the shop getting the new Tour Pro installed as I type. Very excited. They shipped the dealer two by mistake if you want to check with the dealer. Bill at Pickensville Marine in Pickensville, AL.
Looks like I will be in the market for a new bow unit as my Humminbird 788 will not work. So, a post above caught my attention...I can get DI with the built-in transducer?
You will also need an adapter cable to connect the universal transducer to your depth finder.
