    Livescope clarity

Is there a difference in the clarity of livescope between a 1022 setup, and a 102. And is there much difference in screen size of the 93 compared to the 1022? I know one is a 9” and one is a 10”,but I notice the knobs and buttons on the 1022 and didn’t know if it took away from the screen size. Thanks for any input

The 10" is 10" of screen space, not just a measurement of the unit.
The biggest difference in "clarity" is that the EchoMap+ units have something like an 800x400 resolution, whereas the Ultra units have 1280x800 pixels. Go to your local west marine or bass pro or wherever may have some display units, the difference is readily apparent. You'll definitely have more clarity on a 102.
I may be wrong on this, but I believe the 1022 is a seriously outdated unit at this point. I don't think it is even compatible with LiveScope - see this selection guide https://www8.garmin.com/marine/PDF/t...tion_guide.pdf

The "modern" GPSMAP series is the 8600 series, that is the top of the line from Garmin.

If you can afford it, probably go for a Ultra 102. The 93 will be the next best option and is a great unit too, but if I could do it over I definitely would have shelled out for the Ultra.

1022 has great resolution for scope ,resolution is 1024x600 ,93 is 800x400.When I switched to the 1042 from the 93 I noticed a pretty good difference, but it did come at a price.Plus the bigger screen is nice. The ultimate setup would be the 8600 series but you are getting pricey. Now with all the units your not going to see what I would call picture perfect returns with the scope of today.Maybe the next generation we will see scales, but its still better than any other sonar on the market.

I talked to the Garmin factory rep yesterday about this same thing and the Ultra's have the better clarity

Don’t believe it’s any better I had both and sold the 126 ultra because side by side there was 0 difference
