Ranger Flow-Rite remote drain plug install

Ok so there is a transom brace right in front of were the drain plug runs through. How do you run the cable. Drill a hole in the brace big enough for the cable to run through? And what about the cross brace that is behind the transom brace that runs horizontal, is that in the way?

    Thanks.

I used a 6 ft cable in my rt198p and had more than enough cable. I mounted the open / close switch I the bilge.

Great suggestion! I find it a PITA to get around the back of my boat to un-screw or screw in the plug. Had that remote on the back of my Z518. I have a location for the switch where I had the 120V plug in for my chargers. (I have removed the chargers from the boat, but left the plug port in place to plug the hole.) Thanks for bringing up the subject!
