    2000 R83VS trolling motor conversion

I currently have a 24V and am purchasing a 36V trolling motor. Does anyone know whether the wiring in the older Rangers is sufficient for a 36V system? Will I need to change any fuses in the fuse panel to a higher amperage? Will I need to an an inline fuse or breaker? Any help or advice would be appreciated, since I've only ever replaced a 24V with another 24V. Thanks!

Your 2000 model should have 6 gauge TM wire which is fine for a 36 v. You only need one breaker on the positive wire and I would use one with an on/off switch built in. The fuses in your fuse panel have nothing to do with the trolling motor so no changes there.

Thanks for the information! I haven't messed with the wiring on the boat since I got it, so I wasn't sure if it was good to go for a 36V system or not. Glad to know I won't need to re-wire it.
